Team of Russian rafter experiences river rafting in Kishtwar Asif Iqbal Naik Kishtwar Oct 15: A group of 12 Russian rafters while sharing his experience told the Shadow that Chenab basin right from Himachal Pradesh to Gulabgarh Padder in Kishtwar District has a vast potential of river rafting which can attract the thousands of river rafting lovers both at local level as well as outside the country. "We heard lot about the rafting potential in river Chenab and today our group of 12 rafters enjoys the first hand experience of river rafting in Chenab and I enjoyed lot" a jubilant Boris said in Russian language very well translated by his friend Alexander and Katampah. Alexander while informing about his trip said that the prime object of their visit is for rafting in river Chenab right from Kaksar(HP) to Gulabgadh Padder and said that with the help of Command Taganok "(Ryazan) and the team in Moscow sent a team for the passage into Great River Chenaband he was also a part of it. He said that since no one attempt pass Upper Chenab and said that he and among Russian amateur, white Chenab water remains a "white spot", as in other matters, the entire region of Jammu and Kashmir. A very significant problem is the distance from large settlements and the unstable political situation which result in isolation of the hidden tourism potential in river Chenab. Katampah said that after reaching at Gulabgarh, he and his colleagues willing to stay their and wants to enjoy the rafting once more, but they don't have the time left as they have leave for Dharamshala for journey back home. He said that not only he but also his other campaign enjoys the trip of river rafting in Kishtwar and hope that he will come again as and when he finds the time. He said that the lack of tourism infrastructure is a bit of worry for exploration of tourism and hope that the local government will look into this aspect so that the people from outside will visit hear and enjoys the beauty of Kishtwar district. He said that he will share his experience and glorious movements of this marvelous trip to his friends back at home and was confident that more and more people will visit to Kishtwar district in feature if the situation prevails, as he said that he was little bit concern after seeing lot of gunman's (Referred to as Army and CRPF) at many place. "I have seen a gunman standing at several place right from Gulabgarh to Kishtwar and I feel terrible, who the people of this area spent their lives under the shadow of guns, honestly I wondered" Katampah maintained. Alexander suggested that for the upliftment of any place, infrastructure is the prime thing particularly hotels and restaurants and said that Kishtwar lacks in such facilities and said that they will at least find a good hotel in Kishtwar next time when they again visit here. He said that, he hope for the betterment in situation of Jammu and Kashmir in near future and said that before leaving Kishtwar we have left with lot of memories in our minds
